My name is Mohanad, and I am a medical student who hopes to become a doctor and help people in my community. Growing up in Gaza and seeing the pressure on its healthcare system strengthened my motivation to study human medicine. I believe that caring for others is one of the best ways I can help others.
For me, being a doctor means more than understanding diseases and treatments. It means recognizing the person behind every medical case and providing care with knowledge, patience, and compassion. One of the experiences that strengthened my passion for medicine took place during my early clinical training, when I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local hospital.
During that experience, I met a patient whose family had almost lost hope. While working alongside dedicated doctors, I witnessed how timely medical care and care and attention could make a real difference for a patient. I still remember that experience. It helped me understand the responsibility that comes with becoming a physician and reminded me why I chose this path.
Since then, I have remained committed to developing my medical knowledge and working toward my professional goals. I understand that becoming a skilled physician requires years of learning, practical experience, and continuous dedication. However, my family faces financial difficulties that make it increasingly challenging to cover my university tuition and continue my studies with stability.
Receiving support through ASAI's LIFT program would help me continue my education, focus on my academic development, and gain the knowledge and experience I need for my future career. My ambition is to become a skilled and compassionate physician who provides quality care and contributes to strengthening healthcare in my community. I hope to one day offer others the same dedication and compassion that inspired me throughout my own journey.
