Raghd Alaa Youssef Showayb

My name is Raghd Showayb, a 21-year-old Palestinian student from Gaza, currently living in Alexandria, Egypt, after being displaced by war. I am studying Cybersecurity and Networks, a field I chose because I believe that digital safety is essential in today’s world, especially for vulnerable communities like mine.
I was always passionate about technology and problem-solving. In Gaza, I enrolled in the University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) and was doing well in my cybersecurity program. Unfortunately, the war changed everything. Our home was destroyed, and we lost our basic sources of income. I had to leave Gaza with my family and move to Egypt, where we now live in very difficult conditions.
Despite losing everything, I never gave up on my dream to become a cybersecurity engineer. I continued studying online, enrolled in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate on Coursera, and taught myself through free resources. However, the financial burden is overwhelming. I can no longer afford tuition fees, and this is threatening my education and future.
If I receive support through this crowdfunding campaign, it will allow me to continue my studies without interruption. I want to gain skills that will help me find a job, support my family, and give back to other students in Gaza who dream just like me.
One of the most motivational experiences in my life was teaching a group of children in Gaza about safe internet practices. Even during the war, I felt the power of education. It gave me hope and strength. That’s why I will never stop learning, and I want to protect others through knowledge and technology.
I believe that with your help, I can build a better future for myself, my family, and my community. Thank you for believing in me.
