Amjad Sarahna

My name is Amjad Sarahana, and I am 20 years old. I am a Palestinian refugee residing in Al-Fawwar refugee camp in Hebron.
Currently, I am studying Information Network Security and have completed one year of my program with a GPA of 82.4. Throughout my school years, I consistently excelled, maintaining an average of 94 or above from first grade through eleventh grade. However, during my final year of high school, I faced several challenges that resulted in a final GPA of 82.
Being a Palestinian refugee comes with a myriad of hardships. Firstly, the living conditions in the refugee camp are extremely poor. My family’s income is very limited, making it difficult to meet even our basic needs. The ongoing conflict in our region further exacerbates the situation by eliminating job opportunities, thereby leaving us without the financial resources necessary for my education.
The assistance I seek is crucial for my educational journey. Without financial support, I will not be able to enroll for my second year of university, which could potentially force me to abandon my academic aspirations altogether. This is a reality faced by many refugees, where lack of resources and opportunities hinder their dreams and aspirations.
Information Network Security is a field that I am deeply passionate about. In today’s digital age, the importance of securing information networks cannot be overstated. Cybersecurity threats are ever-evolving, and the need for skilled professionals to protect sensitive information is critical. My interest in this field stems from a desire to contribute to the safety and security of digital infrastructures, which are vital for the functioning of modern societies.
Through my studies, I have gained knowledge in various aspects of network security, including threat analysis, risk management, and the implementation of security measures. I am eager to delve deeper into these topics and acquire advanced skills that will enable me to make significant contributions to the field.
As a refugee, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles and adversities that come with this status. Refugees often face discrimination, limited access to education and healthcare, and a constant state of uncertainty about their future. The psychological toll of living in a war-torn region, coupled with the lack of stability and security, makes it incredibly challenging to focus on personal and academic growth.
Despite these challenges, I have remained determined to pursue my education. I believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and adversity that refugees face. It is a powerful tool that can empower individuals, transform communities, and create a better future for all.
I am known among my teachers and peers for my intelligence and dedication to learning. My academic achievements are a testament to my commitment and hard work. I have always strived for excellence, and my passion for learning drives me to overcome the obstacles in my path.
My ultimate goal is to complete my degree in Information Network Security and contribute to the field in a meaningful way. I aspire to use my knowledge and skills to help secure digital networks and protect valuable information from cyber threats. Additionally, I hope to be a source of inspiration for other refugees, showing them that it is possible to achieve their dreams despite the challenges they face.
I humbly request your support in helping me continue my education. This scholarship is not just a financial aid; it is a lifeline that will enable me to stay on the path to achieving my dreams. Your assistance will have a profound impact on my life and the lives of my family members.
Thank you for considering my application. Your support will not only help me realize my academic aspirations but also contribute to the broader effort of empowering refugees through education.
