My name is Ali Emad Ibrahim Afana, and I am a fifth-year medical student at Zagazig University in Egypt. Since beginning my medical studies in 2022, I have been working toward one clear goal: becoming a doctor who cares for patients and supports people when they need medical help. I chose medicine because I believe that healthcare is one of the most important ways to serve others.

A doctor's role goes beyond diagnosing illnesses; it also involves understanding patients, supporting families, and giving people the care they deserve. Over the years, my medical education has strengthened my commitment to this profession. Every year I complete brings me closer to becoming a doctor. Today, I am proud to have reached my fifth year, with only one year remaining before graduation.

Reaching this stage means a lot to me because I know how much work it has taken. I am especially motivated by the opportunity to use my medical knowledge to serve my community and support my family. However, after my family lost its main source of income and our home was damaged, paying my university tuition became increasingly difficult.

These financial challenges now put the final stage of my education at risk. Receiving support through ASAI's LIFT program would help me cover my university tuition and complete my final year of medical school. I hope to graduate, become a good doctor, and use what I have learned to care for people in my community.

I am not asking for help to begin my journey. I am asking for the opportunity to complete the five years of work and dedication that have brought me this close to my dream.
