Zakaria Sarahnh

My name is Zakaria Sarahnh, a human medicine student at Hebron University aspiring to become a neurosurgeon and serve my community. Despite financial and security challenges in the West Bank, I remain committed to my studies, with tuition costs ranging from $2,500 per semester. With your support, I can overcome these obstacles, achieve my dream, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

My Story:

Pursuing a career in medicine is a challenging yet rewarding journey, especially when faced with difficult circumstances.

My name is Zakaria Sarahnh, a student majoring in human medicine at Hebron University. From a young age, I have been driven by a strong desire to help people and make a difference in my community. This passion has led me to aspire to become a skilled neurosurgeon, a profession where I can serve both my religion and my country by providing critical care to those in need.

My family plays a crucial role in my life and has been my source of strength and support. We are a family of nine, including my five brothers and two sisters. Two of my brothers are studying medicine at universities abroad, my father, who is now 66 years old, worked as an employee at the UNRWA before retiring six years ago. My mother, who is 62 years old, underwent hip joint replacement surgery two years ago, adding another layer of concern and responsibility for our family. Despite their hard work and sacrifices, my family has been facing significant financial challenges over the past three years, largely due to the high costs associated with my education in human medicine. The fees for my specialty range from $2300 to $2800 per semester, a substantial burden for any family, especially under our current circumstances.

The financial strain has been further exacerbated by the difficult security conditions in the West Bank, which have made it even harder for my family to meet our basic needs. As a student, balancing work and study is incredibly difficult, particularly in a demanding field like medicine. However, I remain determined to overcome these obstacles and achieve my goal of obtaining my medical degree.

Despite these challenges, I am deeply grateful for the support I have received from Arab Student Aid International. The humanitarian cooperation and donations from those who believe in the importance of helping Arab students have provided me with the hope and resources needed to continue my education. This support has not only eased the financial burden on my family but has also reaffirmed my commitment to my dream.

The road to becoming a neurosurgeon is filled with challenges, but my resolve to succeed remains unwavering. With the continued support of my family, my community, and generous donors, I am confident that I will achieve my dream and use my skills to serve others. My journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, faith, and the importance of helping one another in times of need.

Best Regards.
