Omar Husny Basheer Al-Haj

I'm a fifth-year medical student at An-Najah National university in Nablus, Palestine. I consider myself more fortunate than anything else. I've been blessed with countless opportunities that are beyond my efforts to properly thank God for. Learning has become my deepest love—an inextinguishable fire that keeps me moving forward. From my earliest memories to this very moment of writing, I've been endlessly curious about the world around me. I spent hours admiring the miracle of my hands and reading hungrily about our amazing planet.

Working hard is not easy, it's a given, but it’s incredibly variable. The more I immerse myself in learning something new, the more challenging it becomes. Formal education, with its structured approach, has been a beam of light guiding my journey. However, it's not free. I wish it were. With the ongoing war in my country, financial barriers have grown taller with time, making it increasingly difficult for my family and me to keep pace.
