Karam M.A Wahhab

Hi, my name is Karam Muhammad Abdel Wahhab, a 20-year-old medical student from Gaza City studying at Mansoura University in Egypt. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a doctor and worked hard to make my family proud. Sadly, the events of October 7th turned my life upside down. My family lost our home and financial stability, and they can no longer support my education. I’m now seeking help to raise $1,500 to help cover my tuition costs for the semester.

My Story:

My name is Karam Muhammad Abdel Wahhab, and I am a student from Gaza City. Growing up in the vibrant neighborhoods of Gaza, I completed my secondary education at Ahmed Al-Shuqairi School, where I excelled with top grades. The pride I felt in achieving such a milestone was indescribable, and the joy it brought to my parents was immense.

Driven by a passion for science and a deep desire to pursue a career in medicine, I applied to Mansoura University in Egypt. My efforts were rewarded when I received initial acceptance, and in 2022, I left my family in Gaza to embark on this journey. Once in Egypt, I secured my final acceptance into the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University. My first academic year (2022/2023) went well, with strong results that made my parents proud.

As I began my second academic year (2023/2024), everything seemed to be on track. However, the tragic events of October 7th changed everything. The situation in Gaza became dire. I lost contact with my family, and we were devastated by the loss of our home, loved ones, and friends. My family is now unable to cover the cost of my tuition and medical education in Egypt, which is especially expensive.

I am reaching out to seek your support in helping me complete my studies in Egypt. Additionally, I aspire to prepare for the USMLE and continue my medical education abroad, as I had planned before the war. Despite the immense challenges we now face—my father losing his job, the loss of our home, and the depletion of our financial resources—we remain determined to hold onto the one thing we still have: education. It is our only hope for rebuilding our lives and salvaging something from the destruction caused by the events following October 7th.

Your assistance in helping me achieve this dream would mean everything to me and my family.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
