Ahmad Khader Ahmad Bsharat

My name is Ahmad Khader Bsharat, a sixth-year medical student at An-Najah National University. I would like to share a brief personal story to explain why I chose my field of study, the challenges I have faced in my education, and how your financial support will directly impact my future.
From a very young age, I was inspired by the medical profession. Growing up in a small town with limited healthcare access, I often witnessed patients struggling to receive proper medical care. These experiences planted in me a deep sense of responsibility to become a physician, not only to help my community but also to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare system in Palestine. This vision has guided me throughout my journey in medicine.
However, the path has not been easy. Pursuing medical education requires long years of study, high academic commitment, and significant financial resources. My family has always prioritized education, yet the financial burden has been overwhelming. My father is a general physician working in the Ministry of Health, and due to the irregular and partial payment of salaries, our family has faced continuous financial instability. In addition, my two sisters are also enrolled at An-Najah University—one in Computer Engineering and the other in Architecture—making it extremely difficult for my parents to cover all tuition fees and living expenses at once. The tuition fees required for this semester alone for me and my sisters amount to 25,000 New Israeli Shekels (around 6,800 US Dollars), which is beyond our family’s capacity.
Life in the West Bank adds even more challenges. We live in the town of Tammun (Tubas Governorate), which requires daily travel to Nablus for our studies. The journey that should be short is often prolonged by checkpoints, detours, and roadblocks, forcing us to take long, exhausting routes. This constant struggle with transportation not only consumes time and energy but also increases our financial burdens, especially with the additional clinical training I must attend in different hospitals across the region.

Receiving financial assistance will significantly ease this burden. It will allow me to focus fully on my clinical training and academic responsibilities without the constant stress of tuition deadlines. More importantly, it will help me move closer to my goal of becoming a pediatrician and serving children and families in Palestine.
One of the most motivational experiences that continues to inspire me was during my clinical rotations: I met a young child suffering from a preventable illness that worsened due to delayed medical attention. The gratitude in the parents’ eyes after receiving care reminded me why I chose this path in the first place. Such moments give me strength to overcome challenges, to work harder, and to dedicate my future to alleviating suffering.
With your support, I will not only complete my education but also carry forward a lifelong mission of service, hope, and healing.
Thank you very much for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Ahmad Khader Bsharat
