Samah Ahmad Ibrahim Maree

My name is Samah Maree, and I am from Jenin, currently living in university housing in Hebron. I am a dedicated medical student about to enter my sixth year at Palestine Polytechnic University. However, despite my passion and commitment, I find myself unable to register for the academic year due to financial difficulties. The economic hardships faced by our community in Jenin, compounded by the political situation, have made it nearly impossible for me to continue my education without external assistance.
My father, a retired government employee, has always been our family’s sole provider. He is responsible not only for me but also for my three brothers, who are all pursuing university degrees. The repeated delays in salary payments, and sometimes partial disbursements, have placed an enormous strain on our family’s finances. My father has done everything he can to support our education, but the burden has become too great. I am now seeking financial support to help relieve some of the pressure on my family and complete my medical studies.
The recent siege in Jenin has further compounded our struggles. My family was directly affected by the violent raids, with occupation forces destroying my father’s car and damaging the gates of our home. The physical destruction has not only added to our financial difficulties but has also caused significant emotional stress for my family and me. Furthermore, the closure of banks has made it impossible for me to access basic funds for personal expenses, let alone tuition.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, my dream of becoming a doctor has never wavered. The recent violence has only strengthened my resolve to serve my people. During the siege, I witnessed firsthand the desperate need for medical professionals, particularly in emergencies. Lives were lost because there weren’t enough trained medical staff on hand to provide immediate care. This experience has deeply influenced my career path, and I am now more determined than ever to specialize in emergency medicine and paramedicine.
My goal is to graduate this year alongside my peers and enter the medical field as a fully qualified doctor. I want to be on the front lines, providing critical care to those who need it most, especially in times of conflict. I believe that by specializing in emergency and paramedicine, I can help ensure that no one in my community is left to suffer without proper medical attention. I want to be ready to treat the injured, save lives, and provide hope to those in the direst of circumstances.
I sincerely hope that, through the generosity of donor contributions, I will be able to overcome the financial obstacles standing in my way. Your support would not only allow me to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor but also enable me to give back to my community. By helping me complete my education, you are investing not only in my future but in the health and well-being of countless others who will benefit from the medical care I will be able to provide.
