Financial scholarships are often a lifeline for students worldwide, especially those living in conflict zones and war-torn areas. As a Palestinian student pursuing a degree in architecture, I find myself in desperate need of such a scholarship. The ongoing war has disrupted our lives and placed an overwhelming financial burden on my family. My father, who can no longer afford my tuition fees, struggles to support my two sisters, who are also in university. The high costs of transportation and basic academic necessities make our situation even more challenging.

Architecture is one of the most expensive fields of study, not only in terms of tuition but also regarding the projects and materials required. My father’s salary has been repeatedly cut due to the political and economic instability in Palestine, making it impossible for him to cover my tuition along with that of my sisters. A scholarship would enable me to pay my accumulated tuition fees and ensure that I can continue my studies without delay. This financial assistance would also alleviate the pressure on my father, who is already struggling to meet our family’s needs.

Studying architecture requires various costly tools and resources, such as specialized software, architectural drawing tools, and design materials. A financial scholarship would allow me to purchase these essential tools, enabling me to complete my academic projects to a high standard. Without such support, I might have to rely on lower-quality alternatives or skip important assignments, hindering my progress and ability to compete with my peers. The scholarship would allow me to fully engage with my studies and meet the academic expectations of my field.

One of the major challenges I face daily is the high cost of transportation. Due to the unstable security situation and restrictions on movement, transportation expenses have become an added burden. Living in a remote area means that traveling to and from university requires significant time and money. A financial scholarship would cover these transportation costs, relieving me of the constant worry of how to afford my daily commute.

The war and economic difficulties make it hard to concentrate on my studies. My family is under constant pressure to meet basic living expenses, which affects my ability to focus on academic achievement. A scholarship would provide me with the financial stability I need to concentrate fully on my education. With the financial stress lifted, I could take full advantage of the academic resources available at the university and strive to excel in my studies. This focus would allow me to achieve my dream of becoming a successful architect.

This scholarship would not only support me but also benefit my entire family. It would reduce the financial burden on my father, allowing him to focus on providing for our household. My sisters, who are also pursuing higher education, would indirectly benefit as shared expenses like transportation and textbooks could be alleviated. In this way, the scholarship would bring relief to all of us during these trying times.

A financial scholarship represents more than just monetary support; it is a chance to pursue my academic dreams and support my family during these difficult times. Given the economic and political challenges we face as Palestinians, access to higher education is a significant hurdle. With the help of this scholarship, I would be able to overcome many obstacles, succeed in my architecture studies, and open doors to a brighter future for both me and my family.
