Ola Abdelrahman Yousif Deeb

Peace be upon you.

I initially studied in Sudan on a scholarship, in my fourth year of the School of Medicine at Ahfad University for Women. However, when the war broke out in Sudan, I moved to the Gaza Strip to be with my family and began searching for a university to continue my studies. I faced numerous challenges, the first being financial constraints. Transitioning from a scholarship to tuition fees was overwhelming, especially as the war in Gaza began, resulting in the loss of our home and everything we owned.

Due to these circumstances, paying tuition fees became incredibly difficult. My family lost everything, making my pursuit of a bachelor's degree even more challenging. Despite this, I remained determined to find a university to continue my education. After much struggle, I was accepted into Sudan International University, aligning with the same academic year I was in at Ahfad. Now, the only obstacle I face is the tuition fees, as delays in payment could prevent me from attending classes, which I want to avoid at all costs.

Additionally, I experienced setbacks while in Sudan that contributed to delays in my studies and led to feelings of depression. In 2019, during the Sudanese revolution, the university was closed for an entire year. Then in 2021, the pandemic forced universities to shut down for several months. These challenges took a toll on us but also made us stronger and more hopeful for the future. I aspire to become a doctor so that I can help others and support my community in Gaza, which is currently suffering.

I hope your support can help me realize this dream and finish my medical education. My family is struggling, and I hesitate to ask them for financial help, knowing they have nothing left and are fighting to survive during these difficult times of war and starvation. Now in Egypt, I aim to complete my final year of medical school and sincerely hope to receive financial assistance for tuition and living expenses.

I appreciate your time and consideration regarding my situation and look forward to your response.

Thank you.
