Mohammed Ramadan Yaseer Alkafarna

From a young age, I was fascinated by the way technology shapes our world—how a single line of code could create solutions that change lives. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Computer Systems Engineering, a field that combines hardware, software, and innovation to build systems that empower societies. However, this journey has not been without immense challenges, and it is through the generosity of donors like you that I see a path forward.
Growing up in Gaza, I was raised in an environment filled with uncertainty. Limited access to stable electricity, internet, and educational resources made learning a daily struggle. Yet, rather than discouraging me, these obstacles ignited a fire within me to rise above limitations. I spent nights studying by candlelight, walking long distances to access reliable internet, and teaching myself programming languages through any free resources I could find. These moments, though difficult, shaped my resilience and deepened my commitment to my field.
Choosing Computer Systems Engineering was not just a passion—it was a purpose. I believe technology is one of the few tools we have that can break barriers, build bridges, and create opportunities for people like me, who come from disadvantaged communities. I dream of designing systems that serve humanitarian goals, optimize education in underprivileged areas, and promote global digital equity.
Despite my dedication, the financial burden of higher education remains a constant hurdle. My family, though supportive, struggles to meet the demands of tuition, books, and living expenses. Each semester brings uncertainty—will I be able to afford continuing my studies? Scholarships and donor contributions are not just helpful; they are vital. With financial assistance, I can focus more on my academic growth and practical projects rather than worrying about affording the next semester. It would allow me to participate in training programs, internships, and international competitions, which are often out of reach due to financial constraints.
One powerful moment that continues to motivate me happened during my first year at university. I built a simple but effective application to help students track their study schedules and manage time efficiently. It wasn’t much, but when I received messages from classmates saying it helped them pass their exams, I realized the impact I could have. That experience solidified my belief that even small efforts in the tech world can create real change.
Today, I continue to push forward—with hope, passion, and unwavering determination. But I can’t do it alone. Your contribution is more than financial help; it’s an investment in a young person who dreams of giving back to his community and the world through technology.
I sincerely thank you for considering supporting students like me. With your help, I can become not only an engineer but a force for positive change.
