Board of Directors

The Board of Directors at Arab Student Aid International (ASAI) is composed of 5-7 distinguished members from diverse backgrounds in education, law, and business. Their primary role is to support the President and staff in various operational aspects of ASAI. Key responsibilities of the Board include:

• Approving the annual budget

• Reviewing the audit report

• Approving the annual report

The Board of Directors ensures fiduciary responsibility by strictly adhering to all legal requirements and overseeing the review of annual USA income tax reports.

Historical Phases of the Board Structure

Phase 1: Establishment and Early Years (1976-2005)

ASAI was founded in 1976, with its Main Office first in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. During this period, the Board played a crucial role in establishing the foundation’s policies and operations under the leadership of the late President Dr. Joseph Qutub.

Phase 2: Transition and Reestablishment (2005-Present)

Following Dr. Joseph Qutub’s retirement, Prof. Ishaq Al Qutub was appointed as President. Under his leadership, the Main Office was relocated to Dublin, Ohio. A new Board of Directors was established in 2005, and ASAI was re-registered in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio. Since then, the Board of Directors has continued to provide essential support to the Main Office staff, ensuring the organization’s ongoing success and adherence to its mission.

Through their dedicated oversight and strategic guidance, the ASAI Board of Directors plays a vital role in the organization’s ability to provide financial assistance and educational opportunities to deserving students around the world.
