Contributions to ASAI are earmarked for projects that will enhance social and economic developments in less developed regions in the Arab States such as:
1. Grants or interest free loans to the needy and outstanding university students in applies, natural and social sciences.
2. Support for university Faculty members to achieve Ph.D. degrees and returns to respective universities.
3. Laboratory technical equipment’s for research and teaching, in local fields such as agriculture, industry, women empowerment.
4. Grants for capacity building for training Board Members in advanced managements of NGOs and Civil Society institutions in Distressed Arab regions, such as West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen.
The objective is to increase the targets at the rate by 5-7 % allocations annually.
For ASAI , Sadaqa Jareya is a donation from the wealthy to the needy and outstanding Students for the fulfillment of university education in priority fields of specialization such as applied , pure and social sciences and are allocated in the form of Interest free loans.
These loans follow strict policy and are repayable after six months from graduation whether paid in installments or in full. The funds are recycled for qualified beneficiary candidates applying the same rules since the inception of ASAI, and the process runs for life.
It is the concept of obligatory annual donation allocated on wealth to those less fortunate. It is a form of purification and sanctifying Wealth. ASAI has been receiving Zakat donations focusing on education which is considered within Zakat categories, since inception.
ASAI is targeting needy and outstanding university and needy students in less developed Arab countries.
The escalating condition of refugees in the Arab States is beyond the ability of governments to provide adequate higher education. There is a growing need for providing financial aid to enable students to fulfill their aspirations and contribute to the developments of their societies. ASAI is focusing on this category of population.
